A New World Of Efficiency For Abrasive Blasting
RotaBlast® Cobra Blast Nozzles make more efficient use of compressed air typically offering ~30-40% less air consumption overall (in comparison with a welded pressure blast systems), when factoring in normal use and downtime. Benefits include offering a ~30% wider blast pattern due to their unique nozzle design and abrasive flow expansion at the nozzle outlet. A major efficiency benefit is that RotaBlast® systems do NOT "exhaust" any compressed air in-between use, so they do not "waste" energy - whilst also eliminating any downtime during use.

For the blasting contractors (who are not robots!), we rarely keep blasting "continuously" on each job, getting under things, access, or working in tight spaces, we often start & stop blasting, and not many pressure hold systems are in use due to complexity and abrasive wear and blockages (cannot be refilled during use either) - the same applies to automated/pressure based cabinet systems also; with that in mind, here is some logic applied to the daily waste energy of these welded pressure blast systems:

If you’re starting/re-pressurizing a 200 L pot at 100 psi every 2–3 minutes, the blow-down is often on the order of:
~15–35% of total air use (wasted energy), depending on nozzle CFM, this applies to cabinet based systems also, that typically feature a small pressure vessel, that must be refilled every 2-5 minutes, RotaBlast® Systems blast 24/7 Non-stop, continuously, abrasive can be emptied/refilled during use, for infinite productivity.

Problems with current wet-vapor welded pressure pot blast systems:

Previously seen as the way forward, wet blast pots are complex, are tedious to setup and maintain and lack the ability to offer dry blasting in most cases, this is evident in the used market flood of used wet blast systems. Problems with current dry-blast welded pressure blast systems:

Current, old, outdated and heavy dry blast pots, mix (often humid) compressed air with abrasive, often requiring expensive air drying equipment, (that complicates the job) - adds labor, fatigue and increases costs, even with that, blockages still occur due to moisture, especially with finer abrasives.

RotaBlast® systems eliminate ANY and ALL abrasive moisture contamination, as NO compressed air is ever mixed with abrasive in our machines hopper. Abrasive wear is also a major issue with current welded pressure blast systems, as abrasive is propelled from the blast pot metering valve itself at high-speed, requiring frequent abrasive metering valve liner replacement, blast hose and blast hose couplings as well as nozzle replacement, costing often thousands per year. RotaBlast® systems feature only 3 wear parts, that often last over 1,500 hours, with blast hoses lasting typically 10 x times longer.
